Fashion Merchandising students host ‘An Eerie Night in Fashion’

mercyhurst fashion students set up displaysTo wrap up the spooky season, the public is invited to attend "An Eerie Night in Fashion," hosted by the Visual Merchandising class at Ƶapp University.

Participants will witness the students’ creativity while enjoying exclusive perks at two local shops: Primo Tailoring and Pointe Foure, at 421 and 423 State St., respectively, on Thursday, Nov. 2, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. They can view the new student-designed store displays, enter a raffle, and receive a 15 percent off coupon to shop as they please.

“Besides creating an autumn-themed fashion night for the public to enjoy and promoting Erie's local shops, the goal of this event is to introduce students to the fashion industry in real time,” said instructor Erin Magorien. “Students have the chance to take part in project management, marketing, promotion, sales, designing, social media management, collecting donations, setting-up and tearing down an event, and organizing a clothing drive.”

Both Pointe Foure and Primo Tailoring have been working with Ƶapp's Department of Fashion Merchandising for several years, allowing students opportunities to experience firsthand the art of visual merchandising while being eligible for internships and career opportunities.
