Tony Award-winning star Aaron Tveit makes Erie debut at 菠萝视频app

Tony Award-winning theatre, television, and film star Aaron Tveit makes his much-anticipated Erie debut on Wednesday, May 3, at 菠萝视频app University鈥檚 Mary D鈥橝ngelo Performing Arts Center.
Tveit earned a Tony Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award leading the cast of the world premiere production of 鈥淢oulin Rouge! The Musical.鈥 A stage adaptation of Baz Luhrmann鈥檚 critically acclaimed film, the Grammy-nominated show premiered on Broadway in the summer of 2019.
In July 2021, he was seen in Apple TV+鈥檚 new series 鈥淪chmigadoon!鈥 opposite Cecily Strong, Keegan Michael-Key, Alan Cumming, and Kristin Chenoweth, and he currently appears in season two. He also appeared in Ryan Murphy鈥檚 鈥淎merican Horror Stories鈥 and Audible and Broadway Video鈥檚 podcast 鈥淗it Job,鈥 alongside Keke Palmer and Pete Davidson.
Television audiences know him from the USA network series 鈥淕raceland,鈥 the CBS comic-thriller 鈥淏raindead,鈥 and the Emmy Award-winning television musical 鈥淕rease: Live,鈥 where he played Danny Zuko opposite Julianne Hough and Vanessa Hudgens. Most recently, Tveit was seen in Hallmark鈥檚 鈥淥ne Royal Holiday.鈥 He has also had numerous guest-starring roles on 鈥淭he Good Fight,鈥 鈥淕ossip Girl,鈥 鈥淭he Good Wife,鈥 鈥淯gly Betty,鈥 and 鈥淟aw & Order: SVU.鈥
Tveit鈥檚 film credits include 鈥淟es Miserables,鈥 where he portrayed the character Enjolras alongside Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, and Russell Crowe, 鈥淥ut of the Blue,鈥 鈥淐reated Equal,鈥 鈥淏etter Off Single,鈥 鈥淯ndrafted,鈥 鈥淧remium Rush,鈥 鈥淗owl,鈥 and 鈥淕host Town.鈥
On Broadway, he starred in 鈥淐atch Me if You Can鈥 in the role of Frank Abagnale Jr. and created the role of Gabe in the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, 鈥淣ext to Normal,鈥 which he also developed off-Broadway at Second Stage Theatre.
In addition to 鈥淲icked鈥 and 鈥淗airspray鈥 on Broadway, he starred in the national tours of 鈥淗airspray鈥 and 鈥淩ent.鈥 He is featured on the cast recordings of 鈥淢oulin Rouge! The Musical,鈥 鈥淐atch Me if You Can,鈥 and 鈥淣ext to Normal,鈥 as well as his solo album, 鈥淭he Radio in My Head: Live at 54 Below.鈥
Tveit has received numerous honors for his work in theatre, including the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance in 鈥淣ext to Normal鈥 and the Actors Equity Association Clarence Derwent Award for Most Promising Actor. Nominations included Distinguished Performance from the Drama League, Best Male Dancer from the Fred and Adele Astaire Awards, and Outstanding Featured Actor from the Outer Critics Circle Awards, all for his work in 鈥淐atch Me if You Can.鈥
