‘Unissued Diplomas’ exhibit highlights human cost of war in Ukraine

With today marking the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Ƶapp University is hosting the international poster exhibit titled "Unissued Diplomas" from Feb. 24 to March 1 in the entrance to the Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center.
Ƶapp exhibit organizer and Director of Russian Studies Dr. Kathryn Duda said the exhibit pays tribute to the lives of Ukrainian students cut short by Russian aggression and who will never graduate.
The "Unissued Diplomas" project, a global initiative launched in 2023, invites visitors to reflect on the deep personal losses suffered by families and communities in Ukraine and to consider the broader implications of the ongoing conflict. The exhibition serves as a reminder of the devastating human cost of the war, emphasizing the impact on Ukraine's youth, education, and the future of the nation.
“We encourage all members of the community to visit the exhibit, which will be open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.,” Duda said. “This is a powerful opportunity to join in remembering the lives lost and to raise awareness of the Russian war's continuing impact on Ukraine.”
